If you have one day of annual leave left

Algarve, Portugal

It’s so easy to lose a day of annual leave to life admin and boxset bingeing. But if you want to make that day really count, it’s more than enough for a short break away – as long as you use your time wisely!

If you’re low on funds, this two-night deal from Newcastle to Faro is worth checking out – it’s only £110pp! The flight leaves on a Friday at 5:10pm, so you can knock off early to make your flight and take the other half day on the following Monday to ease into the week ahead.

Have cash to burn? This weekend getaway to Berlin flying from East Midlands is perfect. For £308pp, you’ll stay at the incredibly well rated four-star nhow Berlin and again, you can take just half a day either side of your city break for a laidback start and end to your holiday.

If you have three days of annual leave left

Playa Del Ingles, Spain

When you’ve got three days of annual leave left, you’ve got two options: hook it around a weekend to boost your days off or opt for a midweek getaway where your money may go a little further.

If you’re travelling in a couple, how about this Wednesday to Sunday all-inclusive deal flying from London Stansted to Gran Canaria for £409pp? It includes a stay at the four-star Abora Catarina hotel, which is just a seven-minute walk from the island’s stunning Maspalomas dunes.

Families can snag an all-inclusive bargain too, with four nights in the four-star Labranda Playa Bonita hotel, also in Gran Canaria, for £302pp.

If you have five days of annual leave left

Marrakech, Morocco

Now this is a decent amount of time off! Pair up your five days with a weekend and you’ve got yourself an entire seven days away. But don’t be too tempted to travel Saturday to Saturday – it’s often the most popular time to travel, meaning the price can go up!

As for where to spend that week? Try Marrakech for a city break and winter sun holiday combined. This all-inclusive deal flying from Manchester on December 10 includes seven nights at the five-star Kenzi Club Agdal Medina for just £441pp.

If you’re feeling flush, check out this six-night deal at the stunning five-star Movenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi in Marrakech, where you’ll get bed and breakfast for £603pp. This deal flies from London Stansted, also on December 10.

If you have seven days of annual leave left

Playa Del Carmen, Mexico

If you’ve got an entire week left, then it’s clear you really deserve a break! The good news is that you have a really chunky amount of time, meaning that you can go a little further afield where the weather is at its best.

Go all out with an early Christmas present to yourself. Turn your seven days of leave into ten nights in Cancun, where the temperatures reach 28C and sunshine is basically guaranteed all December. This all-inclusive stay at the brilliant five-star Grand Sunset Princess Resort departs from Gatwick and costs £1,812pp.

Closer to home and kinder on your wallet, Egypt is a great destination for some pre-Christmas sunshine. This £307pp deal includes flights from Edinburgh for a seven-night all-inclusive stay at the five-star Pickalbatros Albatros Beach Club.

Good luck using up the rest of your annual leave!
