2. It might be tempting to drive beyond the Mexican border. The USA to the north, and Belize and Guatemala to the south, can make for great side trips, but beware: certain rental companies will charge you extra for crossing borders. Always check with your supplier prior to driving off.
3. Mexico City’s roads reflect the city’s often haphazard urban planning and overpopulation. Public transport is often a far better and faster choice, especially in the city centre.
