Harrow is in the county of Middlesex. However, it is better known as part of Greater London and is located in the north west of the capital. Although a largely residential area, there is much to see and do here. In fact, organising car hire in Harrow is ideal for getting the best out of the town and the surrounding areas.

With the Victorian streets and shops of Harrow on the Hill and the historic school, the town has plenty of interesting places to visit...

Harrow School is a public school with a long history in British life. Founded in 1572 by a royal charter from Queen Elizabeth I, it has produced a number of the country's prime ministers, including Churchill. Its long and illustrious history as a centre of education for both the British population and people from overseas is an important part of Harrow life. You can visit the school on tours.

St Mary's church is worth spending some time in to enjoy its interior and stained glass windows, and a visit to Harrow Museum is rewarded with exhibits on the local school as well as other important parts of local history. Headstone Manor is linked to the museum and is a 14th century moat house. The timber-framed building can be visited along with its Tithe Barn visitor centre.

Harrow on the Hill is worth exploring, with its Victorian streets lined with eclectic shops and cafes. It's easy to spend half a day browsing in the stores and enjoying a coffee. The town centre itself has excellent shopping and plenty of places to eat and drink, as well as excellent public transport connections to central London.

The London Motorcycle Museum is also nearby, with its collection of motorbikes on view to enthusiasts.

It's easy to arrange car rental in Harrow before you travel and you can pick up your vehicle at various downtown locations. Alternatively, you can pick up at Heathrow Airport (LHR) or Luton Airport (LTN), both of which are within 45 minutes' drive of the town.
