From Middlesbrough, visitors can also access the Cleveland Way, which is a 109-mile scenic trail. The trail runs from the Yorkshire seaside town of Filey (a 90-minute drive south of Middlesbrough) up the coast and around the northern edge of the national park, where it terminates in Helmsley. Use your hire car to access as much or as little of the famous walk as you can. On the Cleveland Way you can discover the rock pools of the coast, meander through destinations such as Whitby and Scarborough, and learn more about the history and heritage of Yorkshire and County Durham.
