Andorra is a principality in the east Pyrenees that shares a border with both France and Spain. Although there are no direct flights to Andorra, it can be reached by flying to Barcelona, Girona, Toulouse, Lleida or Perpignan.

In addition to the skiing and snowboarding on offer in beautiful Andorra, there are many other things to see and do...

Mountainous Andorra is a popular skiing and snowboarding destination for British snow sports fans. But when it isn’t snowing, the terrain makes it the perfect location for walking, hiking and mountaineering holidays.

Rather than looking for Andorra flights, consider flying into an airport nearby such as Toulouse, Perpignan, Barcelona or Girona. Any of these airports are conveniently located for Andorra and it is possible to arrange transportation to your accommodation (see more on that below, in “Getting to and from the airport”).

Andorra la Vella, the capital of Andorra, offers duty free shopping in more than 2,000 shops. The Caldea Spa, the largest in southern Europe, provides somewhere to relax and recover from the excesses of any retail exploits, or to soothe muscles that ache from the slopes. It is also possible to have a guided tour around the Casa de la Vall while visiting Andorra la Vella. This is the seat of the Consell General (Andorra parliament), which dates back to the 16th century.

If you are looking for scenic vistas during your break in Andorra, visit El Serrat, a mountain village popular with skiers within the Madriu Valley. The resorts of Soldeu, Arinsal and Pal are also popular with skiers and snowboarders in the winter, as well as walkers and hikers in the summer.

In the town of Canillo is the Palau de Gel, an Olympic-sized ice-skating rink and entertainment complex. Andorra also has a National Automobile Museum.

Though you cannot fly to Andorra directly, that shouldn’t put you off reaching this glorious destination in the Pyrenees. Read on to find out more about getting here and then find the lowest prices on flights, car hire and hotels in Andorra by using the TravelSupermarket price-comparison tool.
