Prague enjoys flights from many UK airports including Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted as well as Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Newcastle, Leeds Bradford, Luton, Glasgow, Edinburgh and Belfast. Cheap flights to the Czech Republic are easy to come by. Flights take around two-three hours from the UK with international airports in both Prague and Brno.

At Prague Airport, you’ll find four different metro lines into the city from terminals 1 and 2. It takes on average about half an hour to get into the centre of Prague. You can purchase tickets from desks in the terminals, automated machines or from the driver (cash only).

The basic public transport pass costs about 32 Czech koruna (about 90 pence) per adult. The airport is also connected to the city by rail.

You’ll find two taxi firms at the airport with minimum fares of 40CK. A journey from the airport into the city centre should set you back no more than 340CK.

Brno flights are also met with an excellent public transport system. Regular buses operate from the airport to the city. The journey from the airport to the Brno terminal (outside the Grand Hotel) takes about 20 minutes. A standard adult ticket costs 25CK. A taxi rank can be found outside the airport’s main terminal. A typical fare into the city centre costs about 460CK (£13.20).
