Flights to Bora Bora

Cruise companies such as Cunard offer trips to Bora Bora via luxury liners. These trips are definitely pricier than just flying to Bora Bora, but they include accommodation and meals, and stop in many locations along the way. Be aware that cruises do not allow you to remain on the island for an extended period of time, but instead just offer excursions and activities at each location.

One cheaper flight option would be to purchase a round-the-world (RTW) ticket with an airline such as Air New Zealand. A suggested itinerary would be to fly from the UK to New Zealand, then on to Fiji, Tahiti, and finally Bora Bora.

Since RTW ticket prices are generally consistent, they can sometimes be the best deal in terms of flying to Bora Bora – you can also decide to stop over at any of the locations along the way for a longer period of time, which can really enrich your holiday experience.

Air Tahiti also offers island-hopping passes, which can be a much cheaper option than just flying directly. You can use this pass to fly from Tahiti to Bora Bora and back again, and even explore some other islands of French Polynesia.

The airports on Tahiti (PTT) and Bora Bora (BOB) are not air-conditioned. Temperatures on these islands hover between 28 to 30C all year round, so keep this in mind when dressing for your flight. Mosquitoes on the island can also be tricky during the wet season, so make sure to apply some repellent before leaving the airport.

British citizens do not need a visa to enter French Polynesia and your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay, but it’s worth checking the FCO website for up-to-date information and guidance.
