Flights to Rhodes

Direct flights between Birmingham (BHX) and Rhodes are operated by Jet2. EasyJet and Ryanair fly from Liverpool (LPL). From Manchester (MAN), Jet2 have direct flights to Rhodes.

From Newcastle (NCL), charter holiday giant, TUI, provide direct flights, while Ryanair fly direct from Midlands (EMA) to Rhodes.

Further north, Jet2 fly from Glasgow (GLA), with a flight time of four hours and 20 minutes. Jet2 also flies from Edinburgh (EDI) to Rhodes.

Sadly, there are no direct flights between Belfast and Rhodes, so your best bet is to transit in Liverpool or London.

Visiting Rhodes can get a bit tricky during the off-season from November to April as you’re required to change in Athens (ATH), before flying onward with Greek carrier Olympic Air. The cost is not outrageously expensive, however – you can still get there and back for less than £200. Be warned, though: tourist hotspots such as bars, restaurants and hotels are likely to be shut for the winter.

Rhodes is becoming a popular cruise destination, but if you aren’t on one of the luxury liners, you can still get there via ferries from Kos, Patmos, Kalymnos and Leros. The most frequent service, however, is from Athens, which takes about 17 hours.

While you can still get knock-down prices for flights at the height of summer, be aware that the prices of hotels can double during the busiest weeks.

For budget travellers, the best time to go is in May when the weather is pleasant but the summer crowds have yet to arrive. September is another good month – temperatures still hover around 22C and the days are largely dry.
