Flights to Budapest arrive at Ferenc Liszt International (BUD), a modern airport just 20 kilometres (12 miles) from the city centre.

Originally named Budapest Ferihegy International Airport, and still often dubbed ‘Ferihegy’, the airport changed names in 2011 in honour of the Hungarian composer Franz Liszt. Budapest’s airport is the largest commercial airport in Hungary, with more than nine million passengers passing through its doors every year.

You’ll find the usual fast-food joints, snack shops and coffee bars, as well as Italian, Greek and sushi restaurants. For pre-flight drinks, bars serve craft beers and top Hungarian wines.
