You’ll have no problem finding cheap flights to Alicante. It’s one of Spain’s most popular coastal resorts, and a gateway to several others, not least the mighty Benidorm.
Direct flights are available with a wide range of airlines and from a number of UK airports, particularly in the summer months, when Alicante and the wider Costa Blanca region are particularly popular with British holidaymakers. The city is a great destination in itself, though, with a dramatic hilltop castle, great beaches and very lively nightlife.
Alicante is hugely popular as a summer holiday destination, and the availability – and price – of flights rises accordingly at this time of year, particularly during the school holidays in late July and August. It’s the same story for Easter and Christmas too, as the Costa Brava's British expats drive lots of friends-and-family travel during these periods. The cheapest flights to Alicante run in January and February, and while many airlines still fly direct over winter, the weather is often cold and windy.
If you can avoid the school holidays, you'll find plenty of cheap Alicante flights in May-June and September-October. Temperatures typically hit the twenties in June and dip again in October. The low-cost carriers often have some good deals available in the off-season, with easyJet and Jet2 offering low prices out of Gatwick and Manchester.
