Stockholm is the best served destination in Sweden. Norwegian flies in from London’s Gatwick, Manchester and Edinburgh, while British Airways has multiple daily options from Heathrow. SAS also flies from Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh.

Ryanair has services to Vasteras and Skavsta, which are close to Stockholm, from London Stansted.

Gothenburg has flights from London Heathrow with BA and SAS in addition to Ryanair services from Stansted and Edinburgh. BA also operates a service from Manchester to Gothenburg, while Ryanair offers flights from Stansted to Skelleftea.

Some airports are connected to the rail network. You can, for example, catch a high-speed train from Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport and be in the city in just 20 minutes. It’s not cheap though; one-way tickets cost 260 Swedish krona, which is just over £20 per person. By way of comparison, the 35-minute journey by taxi between Arlanda and Stockholm city centre should cost no more 675 krona, or around £50.
