Flights to Stockholm

The two and a half hour flight is operated by British Airways from Heathrow and London City, Norwegian from Gatwick, Manchester and Edinburgh as well as SAS from London, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh. There are multiple departures daily.

Ryanair also operates several flights to airports in the Stockholm region but all require a lengthy bus transfer on arrival to the city.

Additionally SAS offers connections through Oslo or Copenhagen and you can also opt for flights with KLM via Amsterdam, Air France via Paris and Lufthansa via several German cities. Allow four to five hours for these journeys.

If you want to use public transport, shuttle buses leave from the three main airports and the city airport Bromma (BMA) and are usually the best low-cost option. 

If travelling via Arlanda, you can also take one of the high-speed trains and reach the centre in just 20 minutes. The Arlanda Express train is quite expensive, with a one-way ticket costing around 260 Swedish krona (approximately £22) each. Arlanda is also well served by the Flygbussarna Airport Coaches, which depart from the airport every 10 minutes, reaching central Stockholm in less than an hour. The cost is approximately 105 Swedish krona, one way, per adult. 

Whichever airport you arrive at, there's a wide choice of rental car companies and taxis to take you directly to your destination.
