British Airways flies from Heathrow to the city via Doha in conjunctions with its partner Qatar Airways. You can also use Qatar to fly from Manchester and Edinburgh.

Emirates flies from several UK departure points via Dubai, Turkish Airlines via Istanbul, KLM via Amsterdam and Kenya Airways on its London service via Nairobi and onwards to its neighbouring capital. Ethiopian Airlines also offers a London service via its home base of Addis Ababa.

Public transport can be a little hit and miss in Dar es Salaam and even taxis aren’t that reliable an option. If your hotel offers you a reasonably-priced – or even better, free – shuttle service then it would be wise to use this. Remind them a day or two before you travel that you’ll be waiting at the airport at the given time.
