Non-stop flights between the UK and Turkey take on average between 3 hours 50 minutes and 4 hours 15 minutes, depending on where you are flying from and to.

Many carriers will offer indirect flights, with stops elsewhere in Turkey or in other countries in Europe; these can range from less than seven hours to more than 12 hours. They’re not necessarily cheaper than direct flights, but it is worth checking as there can be good deals on offer.

Turkey’s thousands of miles of coastline harbour some fantastic beach destinations, particularly on the Turkish Riviera – the name given to the country’s southwestern edge on the Mediterranean and Aegean Seas. Perhaps the most celebrated resort here is Bodrum, a classy seaside town where upmarket clubs and hotels look out over golden sands.
