Cincinnati is the busiest hub and can be reached on flights with Delta via Paris, Detroit or New York with the airline’s partners Air France and KLM. You’ll find departures from the UK regions, as well as London.

American Airlines, US Airways, United and Air Canada also offer connections through their east coast hubs at New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago and Toronto. Fastest flying times are around 10 hours.

For Lexington and Louisville, US Airways gives the best option with London flights via Charlotte or Philadelphia taking around 12 hours.

Kentucky flights have become very affordable in recent years, which has led to a considerable increase in the number of people travelling to the state. Most flights to Kentucky arrive at either Lexington Blue Grass Airport (LEX) or Louisville International Airport (SDF).

From SDF, you can take either a shuttle bus or a taxi to Louisville. The journey takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic. From LEX, visitors can take an express bus or a taxi into the centre of Lexington. Alternatively, you can fly into the nearby Cincinnati Airport (CVG), which serves the Ohio city as well as northern Kentucky.

Car hire in Kentucky can be booked in advance, with vehicle collection available at all of the above airports. Hiring a car gives you the chance to tour this handsome state at leisure.
