Unlike many other major cities, there are no direct flights from the UK to Salt Lake City. Virgin Atlantic and its partner Delta operate through Las Vegas and Minneapolis. American Airlines and British Airways fly via Dallas, United via Chicago and US Airways via Charlotte and Philadelphia.

Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is the only international airport in the state of Utah and a hub for Delta Airlines. It is just seven miles from Salt Lake City. You can fly into Salt Lake City International Airport from more than 100 destinations. Given the short distance, it’s very easy to reach Salt Lake City from the airport.

There are plenty of rental car options and regular bus, shuttle, taxi and limousine choices, too. If you wish to use a shuttle service, you should make a reservation in advance for destinations in Salt Lake City. If you’re staying outside of Salt Lake City, you do not need to make advance reservations. Some hotels will offer a courtesy car service and this can be arranged with the direct line hotel phone banks at the airport.

To get elsewhere in Utah, flights from SLC connect to the regional airports of Provo Municipal Airport (PVU), though this is only an hour’s drive south of Salt Lake City, and St George Municipal Airport (SGU), which is handy for the many national parks of Utah’s south. Bus and taxi services are available at either airport, as are hotel shuttles.
