Bourgas sees visitor numbers soar during summer, when holidaymakers look for sun-bathing temperatures of around 28C. The main holiday season is from late May until October. Winters are cool in Bourgas and the city is much quieter between November and April.

Burgas Sand Sculptures Festival; July-September: Part of the beach is given over to amazing masterpieces made of sand. Each year there is a different theme and each year the crowds swell as the sculptures get bigger and better.  

Burgas International Folklore Festival; August: Get a glimpse of the traditions and tales of old Bulgaria when this charming event sweeps into town. Events take place around Bourgas - you could see traditional dancing, learn an ancient craft or taste beloved national dishes.
