Few things on Earth come close to a holiday to Disneyland Paris. From the moment you set eyes on the elaborate spires of Sleeping Beauty Castle to the moment you leave, the magic never stops. For the ultimate family holiday, it has to be Disneyland.
Set around two distinctive parks, Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studio Park, Disneyland Paris packs a spectacular array of rollercoasters, rides, shows, parades and, of course, all your favourite Disney characters into a space the size of a small city.
Divided into five “lands”, each with its own theme, Disneyland Park is the classic Disney experience. It’s here you’ll find most of the big-name rides and iconic settings, such as Sleeping Beauty Castle in Fantasyland. The other four, Main Street U.S.A., Frontierland, Adventureland and Discoveryland, transport you to the US, the wild west and beyond.
Meanwhile, Walt Disney Studio Park takes you behind the scenes. Here, you’ll witness the magic that goes into making a Disney movie, with film-themed rides from Ratatouille, Toy Story, Finding Nemo and more. Interactive tours and action-packed shows all add to the excitement.
Beyond the rides, there’s endless entertainment at Disney Village, where you’ll find shopping, dining, shows and dancing. There are even nature resorts, Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch and Les Villages Nature Paris, to relax at during your Disneyland Paris holiday.
Whether hopping on the Eurostar or taking a flight, the park is easy to get to from the UK. And at just 32km (20 miles) outside Paris, and just over an hour by train, you can even add a visit to an extended city break.
There are no specific warnings against travelling to France or Disneyland Paris. For the most up-to-date travel advice for France, check the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
No, travellers with a full British passport do not need a visa to go to France.
Most people spend around three nights (four days) at Disneyland Paris, but it’s possible to see the highlights in one day if you are short on time. If you’re tagging a few days in Paris on to your trip, consider five or six nights.
Getting to Disneyland Paris generally depends on your accommodation. If you are staying at one of Disney’s hotels, most attractions will be within walking distance. For non-Disney hotels in the vicinity of Disneyland, there are complimentary shuttle buses to and from the park.
For those staying at campsites or hotels further afield, a car may be required to get to the park.
To get to Disneyland from central Paris, take the RER A line from Gare de Lyon. The train takes approximately one hour.
