Is it safe to go to Israel?

The political situation is complex and fast-changing. The UK Government advises against all travel to Gaza, some areas in the north of the West Bank, and areas close to the Lebanon and Syria borders. Always check the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) advice before travelling.

Do I need a visa to go to Israel?

No, UK passport holders do not need a visa to enter Israel. Upon arrival, you will be granted entry for up to three months. If you fly into Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport, you will get an entry card instead of an entry stamp on your passport. Keep the card with your passport until you leave.

Are there any local customs I need to be aware of?

Dress modestly in Jerusalem, the West Bank, Gaza and any ultra-Orthodox Jewish areas. Don’t take photographs of military or police personnel.
