Corralejo holidays begin after a short transfer from Fuerteventura Airport (FUE), which is only a four-hour direct flight from the UK. If you feel like visiting other places on the island, hiring a car is a cheap and easy way to get around. Car rental is inexpensive in Fuerteventura, and the road network is uncomplicated.

Carnival; February: This street party, with its colourful costumes, outrageous floats and all-day dancing, is without doubt the biggest annual event in Corralejo. There are games, rides for kids, and food and drink on every corner, so why not try to time your half-term break to coincide with it?

Fiesta de Nuestra Señora del Carmen; July: This event lasts for around two weeks and honours the virgin of the same name. There are workshops and fun activities for the kids, as well as music and dancing.

Kite Festival; November: Fuerteventura is known as the windiest of the Canaries, so what better place to hold an annual kite festival? Cameras at the ready as the skies above the beach at Corralejo are transformed into a riot of colour.
