Compare Malaga hotels

Hotels in Malaga were, once upon a time, largely run-of-the-mill all-inclusive resorts, but lately the port city has gained a new lease of life, with plenty of modern (and many luxury) Malaga hotels in 2023 to match the spirited mood of renaissance.

The great thing is that prices, even at the top end, aren’t ridiculous, so you can still treat yourself even if you’re not on the biggest of budgets. Start dreaming of an upgrade from a three-star Malaga stay to one of the swanky five-star resorts in Malaga.

If you want to stay close to the heart of Malaga’s action, your best bet is the Old Town, which hosts most of the city’s key attractions, such as the Picasso museum, as well as numerous Malaga hotels.

Alternatively, try the SoHo area, another central area with an artsy, more youthful feel – think street art and murals everywhere, plenty of independent cafés, bars and hostels, and narrow winding streets down which to get lost.

Slightly to the west is Malaga city centre, where the shopping streets are located, alongside hotels at more reasonable prices – and it’s only a 10-minute walk from the Old Town.

Lastly, there are the urban beaches, with the most popular being La Malagueta to the east and Huelin to the west.

The beaches at Malaga are pleasant enough, but let’s face it, if you were here solely for the beaches, you’d be heading straight down the coast to Marbella and beyond. So stay here if you’re keen to use the city as a base while doing regular day trips.
