When you think of Norfolk, Great Yarmouth or Norwich are two destinations that tend to come to mind. Both are easy to get to, easy to get around, packed full of hotels and have a huge amount to do and see, both inside the towns and the outlying areas.
Great Yarmouth is home to a beautiful beach and has everything you could want from a UK seaside resort. Pack your bucket and spade and head down to the beach for donkey rides and stripy deckchairs and then walk along the pier with fish and chips in hand. Great Yarmouth pier has a small fair and there is also a larger one further along the seafront, both of which provide amusement for young and old.
Another great beach can be found in Lowestoft in Suffolk, which is a half an hour drive south down the coast.
Norwich is perhaps the most complete medieval city in England and it is dominated by its magnificent Norman cathedral. The 12th-century building is considered amongst the finest Norman secular castles in Europe. Now considered as the county's principal museum, The Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery is packed with treasures. It has resident collections that are of national importance and hosts visiting exhibitions that include works from the Tate.
Good places to visit in Norfolk include Pleasurewood Hills theme park, Extreeme Adventure and the very lovely Pettits Animal Adventure Park. This deceptively large park has a small animal section, with some delightful spider monkeys.
It would be impossible to talk about Norfolk and not mention the beautiful Broads. There are lots of things to discover in the Broads with quaint country pubs, Wroxham barns and plenty of idyllic countryside to enjoy.
