Wildlife Festival; May-June: This is a week-long annual event where free activities are held at Rye, Hastings, Romney Marsh, Camber and Dungeness. A full programme of events runs across several sites, from bird watching to shrimping.

Eastbourne Cycling Festival; June: Top cyclists and enthusiastic amateurs gather to take part in time trials and team events on the seafront. The event is free to watch.

Old Town Carnival; July-August: This event takes place annually in Hastings over the course of a week to celebrate the heritage and quirky appeal of the town.
